"Shady Grove" by Eiledon

Eiledon Mcclellan (1987). Her homeland is Eastern Washington. It is dry. There are a lots of farms.   The sleep comes to her as a wave that slowly washes over her.  “Shady Grove” was sung to her by her mother as a lullaby. "Shady Grove" is an 18th-century folk song popular in the United States.. (wikipedia).

Eiledon’s version:

Cheeks as red as a blooming rose, and eyes are the prettiest brown, you are darling of my heart, Stay till the sun goes down.

Shady Grove, my little love, Shady Grove, my love, my dear, Shady Grove, my little love, going to leave you here.

Shady Grove. Version sung by  Arthel Lane "Doc" Watson (March 3, 1923 – May 29, 2012)

Shady Grove, my little love,
Shady Grove I know,
Shady Grove, my little love,
I'm bound to go away.

Cheeks as red as a blooming rose
And eyes are the prettiest brown,
She's the darling of my heart,
Sweetest little girl in town.

Shady Grove, my little love,
Shady Grove I know,
Shady Grove, my little love,
I'm bound to go away.

I wish I had a big fine horse
And corn to feed him on,
And Shady Grove to stay at home
And feed him while I'm gone.

Shady Grove, my little love,
Shady Grove I know,
Shady Grove, my little love,
I'm bound to go away.

Went to see my Shady Grove,
She was standing in the door,
Her shoes and stockin's in her hand
And her little bare feet on the floo.r

Shady Grove, my little love,
Shady Grove I say,
Shady Grove, my little love,
I'm bound to go away

When I was a little boy
I wanted a Barlow knife, http://www.barlowgenealogy.com/Edson/barlowknife.html
And now I want little Shady Grove
To say she'll be my wife.

Shady Grove, my little love,
Shady Grove I say,
Shady Grove, my little love,
I'm bound to go away.

Kiss from pretty little Shady Grove
Is sweet as brandy wine,
And there aren’t no girl in this old world
That's prettier than mine.

Shady Grove, my little love,
Shady Grove I say
Shady Grove, my little love,
I'm bound to go away.

When I was searching the meaning of the name of Eiledon I found this:

Visuals are from the area of Scotland known as The Eiledon Hills, music from the great album by Big Country The Seer 1986.
Lyrics:

The eagle soars above the clouds,
The deer ran in the hills,
And I may walk in cities
Where the wolf once had his fill.
And here is strength for us to find,
To turn the old to new,
And wipe our eyes of misty years
And see the future through.

I chose this place to call my own,
The only grace I've ever known,
I never tire of legends grown,
We dream too much and time has flown.

Eiledon, I will be there,
Eiledon, my dream is there

So let me fill my children's hearts
With heoroes tales and hope it starts
A fire in them so deeds are done
With no vain sighs for moments gone.

Eiledon, I will be there,
Eiledon, my dream is there
Eiledon, Eiledon, Eiledon, Eiledon

So let us soar up with the eagles
In wild country among the deer,
And wake the wolf in every city,
And reckoning is drawing near.

Eiledon, I will be there,
Eiledon, my dream is there Eiledon

And here is strength for us to find
To turn the old to new
And wipe our eyes of misty years
And see the future through.
