Lullaby Project

Good Night, Sweetheart by Sue Baker

Sue Baker (1954). I made the words of this lullaby for my niece and nephew. Sung to my friends kids too. When I cannot sleep I listen to waltz tunes.

Good night, sweetheart, time to tuck in the day,

Good night, sleep tight, sweet dreams will soon come your way.

Daylight is fading and your eyes are heavy,

The bed’s soft and warm and your pillow’s so deep.

Moonlight will guide you on your path to slumber,

Passing by stars on your journey to sleep.

The star sky is taking a walk through the heavens

And planets drop by to visit your dreams.

The wild wind is yawning and whispers its wishes

To meet you tomorrow and dance with kite strings.

In dream land you drift by today and tomorrow

Where far away friends come to visit and play,

The soft singing sunlight that streams through tree tops,

Reminds you of sweet dreams waiting to show you the way

Good night, sleep tight, tomorrow will bring a new day.
