“Bean Song” by Annika Smith
Annika Smith (1980). The land of sea and fog, where the forest meets the sand. Skies are grey, a rain is never far over the horizon. The sleep steals upon me unawares and tumbles me into dream. When I cannot sleep I count backwards from 7 with color “red seven.” Then imagine a theme for the colors (flowers, gems, etc.) Crickets, waves, rain, wind… “Bean Song” by Annika Smith Sleep like a little bean growing in the garden, Sleep like a bean hanging on the vine, Sleep like a little bean growing in the garden, Rocking gently in the warm sunshine. Sleep like a little fish floating in the ocean, Sleep like a fish in the deep blue sea, Sleep like a little fish floating in the ocean, Swimming freely happy as can be. Sleep like a little bird way up in the treetop, Sleep like a bird huddled on his nest, Sleep like a little bird way up in the treetop Dreaming of the things that he loves best. Sleep like a little star twinkling in the darkness, Sleep like a little star hanging way up high, Sleep like a little star twinkling in the darkness, Shining brightly in the nighttime sky. Sleep like a little boy cuddled with a blanket, Sleep like a boy tucked into his bed, Sleep like a little boy cuddled with a blanket, Close your eyes and rest your weary head. Sleep like a little bean growing in the garden, Sleep like a bean hanging on the vine, Sleep like a little bean growing in the garden, Rocking gently in the warm sunshine. 0203 Comment |
