"Willows Cry" by Mirabai Chavez-Lewis

Mirabai Chavez-Lewis (1999). Mirabai was only 10 years old when she made up “While the Willows Cry”:

While the willows cry they weep so nice,

I notice it in the night,

Little one, don’t cry,

Tonight’s the moonlight night and the animals are alright.

The roses, the poppies don’t they look so nice?

The trees are blowing the sky is nice,

But they don’t ever cry.

Oh oh earth, sun, moon,

Come down and tell me the secret of Droon,

Will they dance? Will they sing? Just wait, we’ll see.

Oh oh, earth, earth, sun, sun, moon, moon! Sing!, Dance!

Tell me the secret of Droon while the birds chirp chirp at the sunset of Droon.
